Mark O’Neal Speight, M.D.
Dr. Speight obtained his undergraduate work in chemistry at University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. He attended medical school at East Carolina School of Medicine and completed his residency at University of South Carolina-Columbia.
He is board certified in Family Medicine and has additional training in Metal Toxicology, Nutritional, and Environmental Medicine. He is a member of the American Academy of Environmental Medicine and is the Past President of The American College for the Advancement of Medicine (ACAM). For five years he served as an assistant professor at Capitol University of Integrative Medicine in Washington, DC and has authored several book chapters and a number of articles in the peer reviewed literature.
Carrie Yerkes, PA-C
Carrie Yerkes graduated from Gardner-Webb University in 2005 with a BS in Biology. She later completed Arcadia University’s Physician Assistant Program. She moved to North Carolina in 2010, where she started working at an integrative family practice in rural NC. For the last 4 years, she has worked in integrative medicine helping patients battle chronic Lyme disease/tick-borne illness, cancer, heavy metal burden, hormone imbalances, and more. She has been able to preceptor with well-known Lyme-literate physicians: Joseph Jemsek and Richard Horowitz; and has attended the last 3 years of ILADs conferences.
In 2014, she completed training through the Institute of Functional Medicine’s Practitioner Certification Program (IFMCP).
